Senior Linux Systems Engineer (Cybersecurity)

What you will do

• Deploy, configure, maintain, troubleshoot, upgrade, and decommission Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems.
• Develop and enforce RHEL baselines, security configurations, STIGs, patching processes, backups, and disaster recovery procedures.
• Manage Linux infrastructure across on-premises, AWS, hybrid-cloud, and geographically distributed enterprise environments.
• Monitor systems, analyze vulnerability scans, remediate security findings, and support RMF, audits, inspections, and authorization activities.
• Develop automation for administration, patching, configuration management, and vulnerability remediation using Bash, Python, Ansible, Puppet, and Chef.
• Collaborate with information assurance, cybersecurity, network, and application teams while documenting systems, architectures, configurations, and remediation work.

Requirements

• Top Secret/SCI clearance is required before starting.
• IAT Level III certification, such as CISSP or CASP, plus a computing-environment certification.
• Red Hat Certified System Administrator certification and one additional specialized cloud or role-relevant certification; RHCSA or IAT Level III may be obtained within six months if not held at start.
• Extensive experience deploying, managing, securing, and troubleshooting enterprise Linux environments.
• Experience with RHEL, YUM/DNF, DNS, DHCP, NFS, Linux security, vulnerability management, STIGs, and compliance requirements.
• Strong technical communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, leadership, time management, and prioritization skills.
