Linux Administrator (SA2) (Government)

Location: Columbia, Maryland; office presence required at least 5 days per week at a government customer site in Laurel, Maryland. No relocation is offered.

Salary: $98,100–$174,800 yearly.

What you will do

• Configure, patch, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux instances.
• Support Linux systems across multiple networks and architectures in a hybrid cloud environment.
• Design infrastructure architecture and develop solutions for organizational needs.
• Create, debug, and implement automation scripts using Bash, Python, Puppet, and/or Ansible.
• Collaborate with diverse teams and service owners to resolve technical issues.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to a small Linux engineering team.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on Linux administration experience.
• Experience with Bash, Python, Puppet, and/or Ansible automation scripting.
• Ten years of experience as a systems administrator on programs or contracts of similar scope and complexity.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, or five additional years of systems administration experience in place of the degree.
• TS/SCI clearance with polygraph required.
• DoD 8570.01-M compliance with at least IAT Level II certification, such as Security+ or CCNA, required.

Nice to have

• AWS experience, especially EC2 Auto Scaling.
• Experience with aws-cli and boto3.
