Senior Transmission and Substation Project Scheduler

Location: Hybrid role based in Houston, Texas, with regular on-site work at the client's downtown Houston offices.

Salary: Minimum $148,000 annually, negotiable based on experience, skills, certifications, and location.

What you will do

• Own the integrated master schedule for a large electric transmission capital portfolio, including WBS, activity coding, calendars, milestones, and portfolio roll-ups.
• Develop and baseline complex CPM schedules in Primavera P6 and MS Project for multi-contractor, multi-front, and outage-constrained projects.
• Lead critical path, float, variance, earned value, what-if, time-impact, delay, and recovery analyses at project and portfolio levels.
• Establish schedule specifications, governance standards, quality criteria, KPIs, contractor review processes, and change-control procedures.
• Coordinate schedule interfaces involving shared corridors, outage windows, long-lead equipment, and adjacent utility dependencies.
• Present schedule performance, forecast confidence, risks, and recovery options to client leadership and executive stakeholders while mentoring project schedulers and project controls staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field.
• 10+ years of project scheduling or project controls experience, including 10+ years using Primavera P6 and MS Project.
• 5+ years leading projects and scheduling large infrastructure projects, with experience owning integrated master schedules for multi-project capital programs.
• Direct experience with major energy infrastructure projects and reviewing, challenging, and approving EPC contractor schedules.
• Strong knowledge of CPM scheduling, float management, earned value management, time-impact analysis, schedule governance, and change control.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Procore or similar software, plus strong communication and presentation skills.

Nice to have

• Owner's Engineer, Owner's Representative, or utility owner-side program experience.
• Experience creating project controls frameworks, coordinating adjacent utility interfaces, or mentoring scheduling professionals.
• Experience building dashboards with Power BI or similar platforms.
• Knowledge of SAP, Oracle Unifier, Copilot tool development, or comparable systems.
• PMP, PMI-SP, AACE PSP, delay analysis, or construction claims support experience.
