Compliance & Regulatory Counsel (Cybersecurity)

Location: Remote. The role requires active membership in a US state bar and is associated with US employment benefits.

Salary: $150,000–$163,000 per year plus bonus.

What you will do

• Advise on global regulatory and compliance frameworks affecting a B2B SaaS provider.
• Guide responses to security questionnaires, third-party risk assessments, RFIs, RFPs, and customer due diligence requests.
• Draft and maintain data privacy agreements, standard contractual clauses, privacy documentation, and customer-facing compliance materials.
• Support AI governance, GDPR/CCPA compliance, hardware compliance, export controls, and environmental supply-chain reporting.
• Lead legal support for SOC 2 audits, including readiness, policy drafting, evidence collection, certifications, and attestations.
• Manage compliance knowledge bases, corporate governance tasks, insurance renewal support, legal holds, discovery, and external counsel coordination.

Requirements

• J.D. or LL.M. and active US state bar membership in good standing required.
• 5+ years of legal practice focused on regulatory compliance, data privacy, cloud/SaaS transactions, and third-party risk management.
• Working knowledge of GLBA, FERPA, GDPR, US privacy laws, and interest in the EU AI Act and DORA.
• Experience managing multi-stakeholder workflows, high-volume deliverables, competing priorities, and tight deadlines.
• Practical understanding of cybersecurity, privacy, compliance frameworks, and enterprise SaaS environments.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting B2B SaaS, cybersecurity, or technology organizations.
• Professional privacy certification such as CIPP/US or CIPP/E.
• Experience with third-party risk management and regulatory filing platforms such as SAM.gov.
