Director, AI Platforms

Location: Remote within the United States

Salary: $216,500–$318,500 USD base salary, plus equity and benefits

What you will do

• Set the roadmap and strategic direction for the AI Platforms team while balancing internal productivity needs with future product requirements.
• Lead, scale, and develop the engineering team through targeted hiring and people development.
• Build shared AI platform capabilities including model access and routing, agent runtimes, MCP integrations, evaluations, agent identity, and cost controls.
• Enable the agentic product development lifecycle with tools, environments, review practices, and workflows for planning, writing, testing, reviewing, and shipping code.
• Extend the platform to support production AI inference and AI-powered product features at member scale.
• Partner with Security, Privacy, and Legal on data handling, auditability, safeguards, adoption, and measurable platform outcomes.

Requirements

• 10+ years of engineering experience.
• 5+ years leading engineering teams that build platforms or infrastructure used by other engineers.
• Experience building and operating production AI systems, including agentic workflows, LLM integrations, retrieval, and evaluation.
• Working knowledge of MCP and agent orchestration, including controlled connections between agents and internal systems.
• Familiarity with production AI inference, including serving, latency, reliability, provider management, and cost.
• Strong technical judgment, architecture review skills, communication abilities, and experience driving engineering adoption through influence.
