Lead Solutions Architect (Generative AI)

Location: Netherlands (remote/hybrid); candidates must be based in the United Kingdom, work across EMEA time zones, and travel to customer sites across Europe as needed.

What you will do

• Serve as the technical authority on Generative AI, LLMs, and applied machine learning for EMEA Emerging Digital Natives and Startups.
• Design and de-risk GenAI use cases including retrieval-augmented generation, agentic systems, tool use, fine-tuning, and evaluation.
• Build proofs of concept and production-quality reference implementations using Mosaic AI, MLflow, Model Serving, Vector Search, and Unity Catalog.
• Lead open-LLM fine-tuning and model-customisation engagements, including judge-based and label-efficient evaluation.
• Partner with Product and Engineering to provide customer feedback, influence the roadmap, and communicate roadmap updates to the field.
• Mentor Solutions Architects and Solutions Engineers through workshops, reference architectures, enablement, and external technical presentations.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of proprietary and open-source LLMs, their trade-offs, and suitability for different use cases.
• Deep expertise in RAG, agents, tool use, fine-tuning, prompt engineering, evaluation engineering, and LLM safety.
• Strong foundations in machine learning and deep learning, including distributed training, GPU workloads, and the MLOps lifecycle.
• Proficiency in Python and the ML ecosystem, including PyTorch, Transformers, MLflow, and Spark.
• Experience with Databricks or the ability to ramp up quickly, plus cloud experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Must be based in the United Kingdom, work across EMEA time zones, and be willing to travel to customer sites in Europe.

• Technical conference speaking, published talks, blogs, or open-source contributions in ML or GenAI.
• Experience in regulated or high-stakes industries such as healthcare, life sciences, or financial services.
• Experience partnering with Product and Engineering teams to influence product roadmaps.
• Background helping digital-native customers build data and ML solutions.
