Manager, Software Engineering (Sustaining)

Location: USA - Arizona - Chandler; office environment. The role includes approximately 15% domestic and occasional international travel.

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and develop a global team of software and quality engineers.
• Set objectives, priorities, processes, performance expectations, staffing plans, and resource allocation.
• Investigate complex software, system, and product issues, perform root cause analysis, and coordinate corrective actions.
• Manage maintenance, defect resolution, security updates, infrastructure improvements, and reliability initiatives for released software.
• Coordinate product transitions and knowledge transfer with Software New Product Development teams.
• Oversee releases, patch releases, service packs, quality metrics, design reviews, code reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 8–10 years of professional software engineering experience and 3–5 years of engineering leadership experience managing technical teams.
• Strong proficiency in C# and C++ development in Microsoft Windows environments.
• Experience with software architecture, debugging, troubleshooting, performance optimization, source code management, continuous integration, automated testing, and release processes.
• Experience supporting commercial, industrial, manufacturing, or automation software products throughout their lifecycle.
• Strong communication, analytical, organizational, project management, and customer issue-resolution skills.

Nice to have

• Experience leading geographically distributed engineering teams.
• Experience with factory automation, machine vision, inspection, motion control, or hardware/software integration.
• Industry experience in semiconductor, electronics manufacturing, or industrial equipment.
