Senior Manager, Software Engineering (AI/ML)

Location: Sunnyvale, California, United States; in-person collaboration at Walmart campuses

Salary: $143,000–$286,000 annually, plus performance bonuses and potential stock compensation

What you will do

• Lead platform-level execution of software and AI/ML systems in line with strategic priorities and roadmap milestones.
• Oversee shared infrastructure, tooling, and reusable frameworks for scalable and secure development.
• Drive the full software development lifecycle across multiple teams, including DevOps practices and continuous improvement.
• Optimize cloud costs and improve automation, telemetry, tooling, and system reliability.
• Guide architectural decisions and ensure quality, security, compliance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Mentor engineers, manage stakeholders, and deliver complex technical initiatives on schedule.

Requirements

• Extensive experience leading platform engineering teams delivering software and AI/ML systems.
• Expertise in full software development lifecycles, CI/CD, DevOps architecture, and cloud-native solutions.
• Experience overseeing architecture for scalable, maintainable, and high-performance systems.
• Strong project, stakeholder management, problem-solving, and technical leadership skills.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant computer science or engineering field plus 5 years of relevant experience, or 7 years of relevant experience.
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or a related field.
• Knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility practices.
