Hardware Engineering Manager II (Aerospace): Leading multidisciplinary engineering teams developing and integrating hardware and aerospace systems with an accent on product-level design maturation, resource planning, and regulatory compliance. Location: Wichita, KS, with office or hybrid work. Travel may be required up to 10% of the time.

What you will do
- Support staffing plans, schedules, budgets, bids, estimates, and risk mitigation for engineering program work packages.
- Manage engineering resource allocations and identify risks, issues, and technical challenges.
- Ensure teams have the tools, processes, training, and industry-standard practices required for program success.
- Collaborate on engineering staffing requirements and participate in sourcing, screening, interviewing, and hiring.
- Provide onboarding, mentoring, career development, performance evaluation, and conflict resolution support.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams through product-level design development, maturation, integration, and approval.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in a related discipline.
- Typically 8+ years of progressive engineering experience, including 4+ years of management experience.
- Experience leading large systems design and development teams and approving product-level designs.
- Knowledge of electrical systems design, hardware integration, mechanical design principles, engineering practices, and computer-aided engineering tools.
- Ability to communicate technical information, understand schematics and electronic measurements, and collaborate across disciplines.
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance are required. The posting references both Top Secret and Secret clearance requirements.
Nice to have
- Aerospace and defense, U.S. Department of Defense, or U.S. military experience.
- Experience with reverse engineering, rapid prototyping, and fielding capabilities.
- Microsoft Project proficiency and CATIA 3DExperience experience.
- Experience recruiting, assigning, directing, and evaluating engineering staff.
