CAD Specialist (SOLIDWORKS)

Location: Round Lake, Illinois, United States; hybrid workplace with a required minimum number of onsite days per week

Salary: $72,000–$99,000 annually

What you will do

• Create and modify complex SOLIDWORKS parts, assemblies, configurations, and production drawings.
• Apply CAD best practices covering design intent, feature structure, external references, reusable designs, and assembly architecture.
• Review models and drawings for dimensional accuracy, tolerancing, GD&T, manufacturability, and drawing-standard compliance.
• Develop and govern CAD standards, templates, libraries, custom properties, and standard components.
• Administer SOLIDWORKS PDM Professional, including users, permissions, workflows, data cards, revision schemes, and vault configurations.
• Support CAD and PDM users, engineering change processes, software maintenance, training, documentation, and workflow automation.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Advanced proficiency with SOLIDWORKS for part modeling, assemblies, configurations, production drawings, and file-reference management.
• Hands-on experience using or administering SOLIDWORKS PDM Professional in an engineering environment.
• Strong knowledge of CAD modeling, drawing standards, dimensional tolerancing, GD&T, revision control, and configuration management.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, customer focus, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
