Mechanical Drafter & Configuration Management Specialist (SolidWorks)

What you will do

• Create, revise, and maintain detail, assembly, and installation drawings from engineering inputs.
• Build and modify SolidWorks parts, assemblies, sheet-metal models, weldments, configurations, BOMs, exploded views, and revision tables.
• Apply GD&T, ASME Y14.5, drafting standards, drawing templates, symbol libraries, and PDM/PLM file organization.
• Coordinate ECNs from preparation through approval, including affected-document lists, inventory and WIP dispositions, effectivity data, reviews, metrics, and release activities.
• Manage part numbers, item-master data, document-to-part relationships, revision control, configuration baselines, and product-structure changes.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Supply Chain to resolve design questions and maintain accurate released documentation.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Mechanical Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of mechanical drafting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks parts, assemblies, and drawings; experience with SolidWorks PDM or a similar system is preferred.
• Working knowledge of GD&T, ASME Y14.5, standard drafting practices, ECN/ECO processes, revision control, BOM structures, and ERP/PDM tools.
• Strong attention to detail, communication, facilitation, and cross-functional meeting leadership skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Nice to have

• CSWA or CSWP certification.
• Experience with ISO 9001, AS9100, ITAR, or another regulated environment.
• Exposure to machining, sheet metal, welding, and assembly processes.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, EIA-649, or document-control certification.
