Senior Staff CAD Designer (CATIA)

Location: Remote, limited to candidates eligible to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Base pay: $115,000–$130,000 annually, plus benefits and an annual bonus structure.

What you will do

• Partner with Mechanical Engineering teams to iterate on concepts and convert prototypes and requirements into production-ready CAD models.
• Build and maintain master skeleton models, top-down assembly architectures, and packaging layouts for dense electromechanical subsystems.
• Design structural enclosures, castings, injection-molded plastics, and machined components in CATIA.
• Create fully defined 2D engineering drawings using ASME Y14.5 GD&T, datum definitions, inspection dimensions, and surface finishes.
• Route wire harnesses, flexible cables, and flex PCBAs through constrained dynamic spaces.
• Collaborate with prototype shops, tooling vendors, and suppliers on DFM/DFA, BOMs, PLM releases, and ECOs.

Requirements

• AS or BS in Mechanical Design Technology, Computer-Aided Drafting/Design, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent vocational training and practical experience.
• 7+ years of mechanical CAD design experience in robotics, consumer electronics, automotive, aerospace, or industrial automation.
• Advanced, expert-level proficiency in CATIA.
• Practical knowledge of DFM/DFA for injection molding, high-pressure die casting, gravity casting, precision CNC, and other volume fabrication processes.
• Extensive experience with PLM systems such as Arena, Windchill, Enovia, or Teamcenter for BOMs, revisions, and ECO approvals.
• Eligibility to work in the United States is required; visa sponsorship is unavailable.

Nice to have

• Expert command of ASME Y14.5 drafting practices and mechanical drawing creation.
• Experience with tolerance stack-ups for precision-machined and molded assemblies.
• Experience with 3D wire harness and cable routing workbenches.
• Advanced surfacing experience and production tooling geometry development.
• Experience with environmental sealing architectures, ultrasonic welding, structural adhesives, and overmolding.
