Principal Product Manager (Genomics)

Location: Hybrid role based in the United Kingdom, with office locations in London, Cambridge and Leeds; office attendance is expected at least twice per month.

Salary from £95,500 per year.

What you will do

• Lead a strategically important product area focused on the trustworthy stewardship of genomic data and relationships with data-sharing participants.
• Set product vision, strategy, intended outcomes, OKRs, roadmaps and focused backlogs across related products, services and squads.
• Lead early-stage discovery by framing ambiguous problems, gathering requirements, testing assumptions and using research and evidence to guide decisions.
• Coordinate user research, design, engineering, data, operations, governance, policy and other multidisciplinary stakeholders.
• Manage dependencies, prioritisation and trade-offs across the full product lifecycle while balancing participant needs, feasibility, risk and regulatory responsibilities.
• Mentor Product Managers, lead cross-chapter initiatives and potentially line-manage one or two product people.

Requirements

• Substantial product management experience leading complex product areas at Principal Product Manager level or equivalent.
• Experience shaping product vision, strategy, outcomes and roadmaps across complex products, services or product areas.
• Deep experience leading discovery, framing ambiguous problems, gathering requirements and using research and evidence to make product decisions.
• Experience leading across multiple teams or disciplines, managing dependencies and making thoughtful trade-offs.
• Strong stakeholder leadership, communication, collaboration and mentoring skills.
• Experience in genomics is not required; experience with sensitive data, healthcare, life sciences, government, financial services or other regulated environments is valuable.

Nice to have

• Experience with participant, patient, citizen or customer consent, preferences and ongoing engagement.
• Experience with healthcare, clinical research, genomics or data-intensive scientific infrastructure and software.
• Experience supporting responsible access, stewardship or secondary use of sensitive data.
• Experience working within governance, assurance, ethical or regulatory frameworks.
