Transmission Telecom Planning, Senior Specialist (Telecommunications)

Location: Hybrid role based at the Alhambra Service Center; employees are generally required to work and reside in California. Extended assignments at alternate work locations may be required.

Salary: $111,600–$167,400 per year.

What you will do

• Engineer and design telecommunications facilities and provide data for future growth and budget planning.
• Develop cost estimates, work orders, construction plans, and construction packages for major and smaller projects.
• Coordinate permitting, environmental requirements, compliance, traffic control, street use, excavation, railroad, flood control, and related agency requirements.
• Lead and monitor overhead and underground construction activities, outages, standards, and safe work practices.
• Support operational emergencies by dispatching crews and resources to restore service.
• Promote Edison safety protocols and protect company, customer, financial, cybersecurity, and confidential information assets.

Requirements

• At least three years of experience in electrical utility distribution, transmission, telecommunications design, line construction, or engineering.
• Valid Class C driver’s license.
• Ability to apply engineering principles, construction standards, and industry practices.
• Experience with work scope, service methods, and overhead or underground construction methods.
• Ability to manage multiple technical or customer projects and collaborate with clients, peers, management, and agencies.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Nice to have

• Experience with wind or pole loading applications, drafting systems, GIS, SPIDA Calc, Autodesk AUD, cGIS, SAP, or equivalent tools.
• Experience preparing work orders, construction plans, or project packages.
• Leadership or mentorship experience.
• Experience managing customer or stakeholder interactions in technical, construction, or utility environments.

• Option for a 9/80 alternate work schedule or a 40-hour, five-day schedule.
• Work may be assigned at alternate locations for extended periods based on business needs.
