Intern - Controls Engineer - Summer 2027

Location: On-site in Milpitas, California, United States

Salary: $25–$38 per hour, based on academic level; BS interns earn $25–$32 per hour and MS/PhD interns earn $35–$38 per hour.

What you will do

• Support schematic development and drafting.
• Program and configure PLCs.
• Select and design safety components.
• Specify, write, and test control software for advanced equipment.

Requirements

• Pursuing an engineering degree with a focus on electrical engineering; current students from bachelor’s degree through PhD level may apply.
• Experience or coursework related to equipment automation, circuits, and power systems.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer.
• Must be able to work on-site in Milpitas, California; transportation and housing are the intern’s responsibility.
• Willingness to occasionally travel, work nights or weekends, or be on call.
• Ability to work safely around industrial hazards, including heat, cold, noise, fumes, strong magnets, lead, high voltage, and cryogenics.

Nice to have

• AutoCAD experience.
