Intern - Mechanical Equipment Engineer - Spring 2027 (Fusion Energy)

Location: On-site in Devens, Massachusetts, United States. The internship may require occasional travel, nights, weekends, or on-call work. Interns are responsible for their own transportation and housing.

Salary: $25–$38 per hour, depending on the current year of study. BS interns earn $25–$32 per hour; MS/PhD interns earn $35–$38 per hour.

What you will do

• Create CAD models and drawings in NX.
• Design and support manufacturing equipment, including lifting fixtures and weld fixtures.
• Work with equipment and manufacturing teams during equipment assembly and tear-down.
• Identify and implement process improvements on the production floor.

Requirements

• Pursuing an engineering degree with a focus on mechanical engineering.
• Experience with CAD modeling; NX experience is preferred.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer.
• Must be willing to work on-site in Devens, Massachusetts.
• Ability to type, stand, or sit for extended periods and follow strict industrial safety practices.
• Ability to work around potential hazards including heat, cold, noise, fumes, strong magnets, lead, high voltage, and cryogenics.
