Senior / Staff Product Manager – Payments

hirify.global provides financial technology for leading global banks and is building an AI-enabled, autonomous banking platform through a newly acquired startup.

What you will do

• Define the multi-year Payments strategy, rolling roadmap, priorities, and measurable outcomes across UK and US requirements.
• Own payment scheme change, including Nacha rules, ISO 20022 deadlines, and scheme mandates.
• Act as the payments subject-matter expert for rails, schemes, participants, processors, settlement models, and operating rules.
• Work with Tier-1 bank clients to model payment lifecycles, identify controls and edge cases, and define reusable capabilities.
• Author PRDs and decision documents covering APIs, events, data and state models, error semantics, and acceptance criteria.
• Partner with engineering on idempotency, retries, ordering, cut-offs, value dates, settlement finality, recovery, reconciliation, and platform boundaries.

Requirements

• Deep hands-on expertise in UK payment rails such as Faster Payments, Bacs, CHAPS, or Open Banking, or US rails such as ACH/Nacha, Fedwire, FedNow, RTP, or CHIPS; UK expertise is prioritized.
• Working knowledge of ISO 20022, settlement and finality, returns and reversals, exceptions, reconciliation, and scheme onboarding and certification.
• Experience with more than one payment type, such as instant payments, batch/ACH, wire, direct debit, or cross-border payments.
• At least 4 years owning a technical product or platform end to end, including a product taken through launch, adoption, and iteration.
• Engineering experience or equivalent hands-on experience building, shipping, and operating production software, typically 3+ years.
• Strong understanding of APIs, event-driven and distributed systems, data and state modeling, reliability, security, and observability.
