Finance Manager and Strategic Financial Analyst

What you will do

• Lead financial management, planning, budgeting, reporting, and resource allocation for the Okanagan Finance portfolio.
• Advise portfolio leaders on financial strategy, effectiveness, internal controls, and operational improvements.
• Conduct financial, operational, and institutional analyses to support strategic planning and executive decision-making.
• Develop forecasting, financial, operational, enrolment, and scenario models for planning and strategic initiatives.
• Research peer institutions, U15 universities, and external benchmarks to support comparative analysis and resource allocation decisions.
• Prepare reports, briefing materials, presentations, visualizations, and governance materials for Finance leadership, Executive, Senate, and the Board.

Requirements

• Relevant undergraduate degree and completion of the CPA accounting program through CA, CGA, or CMA.
• Minimum seven years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in financial analysis, forecasting, modelling, planning, decision support, or related analytical functions.
• Strong understanding of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and management analysis.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other analytical tools.
• Strong analytical, communication, presentation, organizational, judgment, and stakeholder collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in higher education, the public sector, or another large, complex organization.
• Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar business intelligence and reporting platforms.
• Experience with enterprise financial systems such as Workday, SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems.
