Staff Accountant – Revenue Accounting (AI)

What you will do

• Review customer contracts and determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment under ASC 606.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and completeness analyses for deferred revenue, unbilled receivables, contract assets, and accounts receivable.
• Conduct revenue analytics and flux analyses to investigate variances and improve financial reporting accuracy.
• Maintain SOX-compliant internal control documentation and support internal and external audit requests.
• Collaborate with Finance, Sales, Legal, and Revenue Operations while improving accounting workflows through AI and automation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, GAAP, financial reporting, and analytical problem-solving.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including large datasets, formulas, pivot tables, and financial reconciliations.
• Ability to analyze financial information, identify discrepancies, communicate findings, and manage competing deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
• Interest in using AI, automation, and technology to improve accounting processes.

Nice to have

• 2–3 years of experience in accounting, finance, revenue accounting, or a related function.
• Experience with ASC 606, non-standard customer contracts, SOX compliance, internal controls, and financial audits.
• Experience with deferred revenue, unbilled receivables, contract assets, accounts receivable, journal entries, and financial close activities.
• Experience in a SaaS, technology, or subscription-based business and familiarity with recurring revenue models.
• Advanced Excel skills, ERP or financial reporting tools, and AI-powered accounting or automation platforms.
