Medical Scribe - Ophthalmology Full-time Days

Location: 259 E. Erie, Chicago, IL, United States; onsite, full-time day shift.

Salary: USD 17.05–26.43 per hour.

What you will do

• Document provider-patient encounters, histories, examinations, procedures, diagnostic findings, communications, and care plans in the EHR in real time.
• Accompany providers during patient interviews and examinations and introduce the scribe role to patients and families.
• Assist providers with EHR navigation, locate prior notes and test results, and research requested information.
• Prepare clinic disposition paperwork and generate patient plans with the scribe identification.
• Maintain accurate documentation statements and provider attestations in accordance with organizational requirements.
• Protect confidential patient information and follow HIPAA, regulatory, and accreditation standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficiency in medical terminology and basic coding knowledge.
• Strong written and verbal communication, active listening, observation, and attention to detail.
• Keyboard proficiency and ability to use personal computers and related software applications.
• Ability to multitask, solve problems under pressure, and work in a dynamic clinical environment.
• Commitment to protecting confidential patient information and following HIPAA requirements.

Nice to have

• Two years of medical scribe experience.
• Medical Scribe certification from a vocational school, community college, or university.
• Bachelor’s degree.
