What you will do

• Collect, prepare, scan, index, and reconcile patient health records and supporting documents.
• Validate image quality, patient identification, document accuracy, and processing productivity.
• Process Release of Information requests, including requests from patients, providers, payers, attorneys, auditors, and other authorized parties.
• Validate authorizations, manage subpoenas and court orders, and escalate unusual or sensitive requests.
• Provide customer service, answer department calls, assist visitors, and support HIM projects and process improvements.
• Protect protected health information and maintain compliance, accuracy, quality, and turnaround standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience in Health Information Management, medical records, document imaging, or a related healthcare setting.
• Proficiency with basic computer applications and data entry.
• Knowledge of HIPAA privacy and security regulations.
• Strong organization, communication, customer service, prioritization, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Nice to have

• Associate degree or higher.
• Experience with Release of Information processes and electronic health record systems.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• RHIT or RHIA certification.
