HCC / Risk Adjustment Medical Coder (ICD-10-CM)

Location: Remote within the United States; availability required between 6 AM and 6 PM EST.

Salary: $18–$22 per hour.

What you will do

• Review and accurately code medical records and encounters for risk adjustment and HCC diagnoses and procedures.
• Apply ICD-10-CM, CMS-HCC, and other relevant coding guidelines.
• Validate coded data and resolve discrepancies between clinical documentation and diagnosis coding.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and physicians to clarify documentation and coding queries.
• Prepare coding reports and support internal and external coding audits.
• Identify opportunities to improve coding documentation, accuracy, and efficiency.

Requirements

• Must be available to work remotely from the United States and during the 6 AM–6 PM EST shift window.
• Minimum CPC or CCS certification from AHIMA or AAPC is required; CPC-A certification is not accepted.
• One to two years of experience in risk adjustment and HCC coding in a healthcare setting.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM coding guidelines and CMS-HCC risk adjustment methodology.
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems and coding software.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, communication skills, and ability to work independently.
