Principal Python Developer

Location: 100% remote within the United States

Salary: $120,000–$170,000 annually

What you will do

• Design, build, and continuously enhance complex enterprise-grade applications, data-intensive services, and automation platforms.
• Develop robust, secure, and high-performance Python systems for distributed and mission-critical production environments.
• Design applications and relational database schemas, including query tuning for enterprise database systems.
• Apply the full software development lifecycle, including requirements, design, development, testing, release, and operational support.
• Debug complex production issues, identify root causes, and improve application resiliency and reliability.
• Collaborate with product, data, infrastructure, technical, and business stakeholders to deliver engineering solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• At least five years of applied Python development experience in enterprise-grade environments.
• Experience building and maintaining large-scale production applications with high uptime and reliability requirements.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or Sybase, including query tuning and schema design.
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, computational efficiency, system design, automated testing, Agile methodologies, CI/CD, secure coding, and operational support.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States; new H-1B visa petitions cannot be sponsored.

Nice to have

• Shell scripting and command-line tooling in UNIX/Linux environments.
• Experience with NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
• Exposure to AWS services and cloud-native storage technologies such as S3, RDS, DynamoDB, and Glue.
• Knowledge of mathematical and statistical concepts and their application in code.
