Lead Python Engineer / Technical Architect (Investment Platform)

Location: United Kingdom; hybrid work with onsite presence at the client's London office two days per week

hirify.global is delivering a modernization initiative for a global investment management organization, covering investment analytics, portfolio management, capital markets solutions, and integrations with external financial platforms.

What you will do

• Lead solution architecture and technical design for business-critical investment applications.
• Design, develop, and maintain production-grade Python applications.
• Refactor and modernize applications originally developed by business, analyst, or quantitative teams.
• Design scalable, resilient, secure, and observable AWS-native solutions.
• Contribute to data architecture and solutions using Snowflake and modern data platforms.
• Define engineering standards, review code, improve delivery quality, and mentor junior and middle-level engineers.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on Python development and production application design experience.
• Strong AWS architecture and cloud engineering expertise, with knowledge of software architecture and design patterns.
• Previous experience as a Technical Lead, Lead Engineer, or hands-on Architect.
• Experience with API design, system integration, automated testing, CI/CD, version control, application security, monitoring, and observability.
• Experience with Snowflake or comparable modern data platforms, data-intensive applications, or analytics solutions.
• Ability and willingness to work onsite in London two days per week, with strong stakeholder communication and mentoring skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in financial services, asset management, investment management, or capital markets.
• Experience with portfolio management, investment analytics, fixed income, or ETF solutions.
• Exposure to Aladdin, BNY, or comparable financial platforms and integrations.
• Familiarity with AI-enabled software development, agentic workflows, or AI-assisted SDLC.
