Underwriting Trainer II

Location: Work from home, USA

Salary: $90,000–$105,000 annually; typically eligible for a discretionary annual bonus of 12.5%.

What you will do

• Design, deliver, and administer specialized training in life, annuity, and health underwriting.
• Teach analysis techniques, risk assessment, modeling, underwriting criteria, and related tools and technology.
• Develop measurable learning criteria for different levels of underwriting knowledge and technical expertise.
• Monitor regulatory rules, product offerings, and technology developments, and share relevant insights through individual and group training.
• Evaluate training effectiveness, identify capability gaps, and collaborate with management to improve learning experiences.
• Create career development and employee engagement opportunities and participate in cross-functional underwriting projects.

Requirements

• Six years of underwriting experience in the insurance or financial services industry.
• Experience with underwriting training or project/process management in a corporate environment.
• Strong written, oral, communication, presentation, documentation, writing, and editing skills.
• Ability to communicate technical information in a learning environment.
• Creative, collaborative approach to designing engaging learning and development programs.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in business or finance.
• FLMI, FALU, or CLU certification.
