Staff Program Manager, Technical (Genomics)

Location: US - California - San Diego; hybrid role

Base salary: $129,400–$194,000 per year, plus eligible variable cash compensation and equity.

What you will do

• Lead execution of High Throughput Sequencing platform initiatives covering product improvements, reliability, quality, lifecycle management, and business performance.
• Partner with technical, development, quality, operations, service, supply chain, regulatory, marketing, commercial, and finance stakeholders.
• Develop and communicate integrated plans covering scope, schedules, resources, dependencies, risks, budgets, and milestones.
• Coordinate On-Market Core Team activities, governance forums, executive reviews, and portfolio prioritization.
• Manage risks, issues, trade-offs, escalations, corrective actions, design changes, field issues, and post-market initiatives.
• Support sustaining engineering, obsolescence planning, end-of-support readiness, serviceability improvements, cost optimization, and continuous improvement of program management processes.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of related experience with a bachelor's degree, 6 years with a master's degree, or 3 years with a PhD, or equivalent experience.
• Strong experience leading complex cross-functional technical programs in highly matrixed environments without direct authority.
• Experience managing integrated schedules, resource plans, budgets, executive reporting, governance, risks, issues, and stakeholder alignment.
• Understanding of product lifecycle management, sustaining engineering, post-market support, and programs involving hardware, software, consumables, or integrated systems.
• Knowledge of FDA-regulated environments, design controls, risk management, and change management processes.
• Current PMP certification is typically required. This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience with next-generation sequencing platforms, molecular biology, genomics, or life science instrumentation.
• Experience with product development, quality investigations, corrective actions, field actions, post-launch activities, or sustaining programs.
