Staff Technical Program Manager (AI)

Location: San Diego, California, United States

Base pay: $169,500–$229,500 per year in San Diego, with potential bonus, equity rewards, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead large-scale, technology-focused programs across multiple teams, products, and organizational areas.
• Build program strategies, roadmaps, delivery plans, governance models, and operating rhythms.
• Manage technical dependencies, risks, blockers, trade-offs, and stakeholder communications through delivery.
• Drive change management and ensure program outcomes are embedded and sustained.
• Facilitate technical discussions, support decision-making, and develop end-to-end program blueprints.
• Evaluate AI-generated program artifacts and guide teams toward effective agent-assisted execution.

Requirements

• 8 or more years of experience leading large-scale, technology-focused programs.
• Strong technical aptitude and extensive knowledge of software development approaches, architecture, and lifecycle.
• Experience managing complex, highly visible programs with dependencies across multiple teams or product lines.
• Ability to influence directors and vice presidents and build partnerships in a matrix environment.
• Experience directing AI agents with program context and evaluating AI-generated work rigorously.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent work experience.

Nice to have

• CSM certification, agile training, and agile experience.
• PMP certification or an MBA.
