Procurement Sourcing Category Strategist III

What you will do

• Lead strategic sourcing initiatives, competitive bids, and RFPs across assigned business units and procurement categories.
• Develop sourcing strategies that improve efficiency, reduce costs, and maximize supplier value.
• Identify suppliers, solicit and analyze proposals, and prepare sourcing recommendations.
• Negotiate pricing, contract terms, service-level agreements, and other commercial requirements.
• Build cross-functional teams, manage supplier engagements, resolve disputes, and communicate procurement standards.
• Guide junior procurement consultants and support continuous improvement across sourcing processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, engineering, procurement, or a related field plus seven years of procurement experience, or a high school diploma/GED plus eleven years of related experience.
• Experience managing RFPs, competitive bids, strategic sourcing initiatives, and supplier negotiations.
• Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives through collaboration, influence, and stakeholder buy-in.
• Strong analytical, research, problem-solving, decision-making, communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Nice to have

• Professional certification in supply chain, procurement, or a related field.
• Master of Business Administration or another advanced degree.
• Experience with procure-to-pay, sourcing, or contract management systems.
• Experience leading or supervising procurement professionals.
• Experience in financial services, banking, or other highly regulated environments.
