Staff Software Engineer, AI

hirify.global develops an advertising technology platform for agencies and brands, including Compass, an AI agent platform for media planning, buying, and operations.

What you will do

• Set the technical direction and architecture for Compass and LLM-powered features.
• Design and evolve MCP servers, A2A integrations, and APIs connecting agents to the Basis media buying toolkit.
• Own agent orchestration, evaluation, observability, production support, and reliability.
• Lead large-scale technical projects across multiple teams and systems from ideation through production.
• Serve as the primary technical contact for Product, QA, Design, Operations, Engineering, and other stakeholders.
• Mentor engineers, conduct design and code reviews, and establish AI-assisted and agentic development practices across engineering.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of professional software engineering experience, including recent production experience with LLM-powered applications or agent systems.
• Technical leadership experience owning the direction of a team or major system.
• Expert Python skills and experience architecting production APIs and backend services.
• Experience with agentic systems, asynchronous and event-driven patterns, prompt engineering, structured outputs, and reliability techniques using frameworks such as Strands, LangChain, or the Claude Agent SDK.
• Experience with evaluation and observability tools such as Langfuse or LangSmith.
• Fluency with AI coding tools and the ability to mentor engineers and explain complex systems to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience in ad tech, media planning systems, or programmatic advertising.
• Hands-on AWS Bedrock and Bedrock AgentCore experience.
• Experience designing MCP tool sets or skills libraries for multiple teams or external partners.
• Experience with OAuth 2.0 for agents, token vaulting, RAG systems, vector databases, or knowledge retrieval.
• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
