What you will do

• Monitor information systems and networks for security incidents, anomalies, and potential breaches.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and identify weaknesses in systems and applications.
• Investigate and respond to security incidents while helping prevent future occurrences.
• Implement security hardening practices and manage firewalls, intrusion detection systems, antivirus solutions, and SIEM tools.
• Support security awareness training, compliance activities, and accurate cybersecurity documentation.
• Research current cybersecurity trends, vulnerabilities, and threats while developing technical skills.

Requirements

• SkillBridge eligibility is required: at least 180 continuous days of active service, 180 or fewer days remaining before discharge, and unit commander approval.
• Participation may be terminated by the service if mission requirements require it.
• Degree or diploma in cybersecurity, computer science, information technology, or a related field is preferred; relevant certifications and practical experience may also be considered.
• Basic knowledge of networking, operating systems, cybersecurity tools, access controls, encryption, authentication, and network security protocols.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, adaptability, and ethical judgment skills.
• Applicants must pass a government security investigation and meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Nice to have

• CompTIA Security+, Certified Ethical Hacker, CCNA-Security, or CISSP certification.
