Spring Intern - Cyber Security (Cybersecurity)

Location: Colorado Springs, CO, USA. U.S. Persons only due to access to information subject to ITAR export controls.

Salary: $18.00 per hour, part time.

What you will do

• Perform security assessments and vulnerability scans of information systems and network infrastructure.
• Analyze security data and logs to detect and respond to potential threats and vulnerabilities.
• Develop and implement security policies, standards, and procedures.
• Support incident response and recovery, including root cause analysis and mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide security-related technical guidance.
• Design cybersecurity awareness training and monitor emerging threats and best practices.

Requirements

• Must be located in Colorado Springs, CO.
• Must qualify as a U.S. Person under applicable ITAR export-control requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity or a related field.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, concepts, and industry best practices.
• Familiarity with security tools and technologies, with strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Nice to have

• CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CEH certification.
• Knowledge of network, cloud, and endpoint security.
• Experience with security assessment tools and techniques.
• Understanding of NIST, HIPAA, or ISO 27001 compliance standards.
• Basic programming skills in Python or C++.
