Staff AI Security Engineer

Location: NYC, USA; in-office work five days per week

Salary: $276,960–$363,510 annually, plus equity and benefits

Suno is a consumer entertainment company building an AI music platform used to create and share music.

What you will do

• Design and build security controls for model training and serving infrastructure, compute clusters, pipelines, model artifacts, and the software supply chain.
• Develop production detection, monitoring, and guardrail systems for model inputs, outputs, and agentic tool use.
• Conduct adversarial testing and red-teaming across models, pipelines, and products, and drive remediation.
• Partner with ML research, platform, and product engineering to establish secure defaults and review customer-facing AI features.
• Set technical direction through security standards, reference architectures, and an AI security roadmap.

Requirements

• 8–10 years of security engineering experience, including securing ML systems or large-scale ML infrastructure in production.
• Experience designing and shipping security systems and tooling.
• Deep knowledge of cloud and infrastructure security, including IAM, Kubernetes, network segmentation, secrets management, and infrastructure as code.
• Strong understanding of ML training and serving pipelines, model supply chain risks, and protection of model weights and artifacts.
• Knowledge of LLM and generative AI attack vectors and frameworks such as OWASP Top 10 for LLMs and MITRE ATLAS.
• Strong coding skills in Python or Go, plus experience influencing senior engineers and leaders without formal authority.

Nice to have

• Experience at a foundation model company or AI research lab.
• Experience securing GPU compute environments or distributed training at scale.
• Hands-on experience with adversarial testing tools such as Garak or PyRIT.
• Experience securing audio, media, or other generative content pipelines.
