Staff Software Engineer (AI Security)

What you will do

• Own security architecture across the platform, including threat modeling, secure design reviews, and security standards.
• Harden application security and cloud infrastructure, including identity, networks, secrets, tenant isolation, and data protection.
• Drive SOC 2 readiness and prepare for defense and aerospace compliance requirements, including export control and ITAR.
• Secure AI and agentic systems against prompt injection, model-related data leakage, unauthorized agent actions, and other risks.
• Build security tooling for detection, monitoring, vulnerability management, and CI/CD.
• Establish and lead incident response, including detection, remediation, and postmortems.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience building production software, including secure cloud services at scale.
• Deep application and cloud security experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure, including identity and access, secrets, network security, and data protection.
• Experience owning security in a regulated or high-trust environment and implementing SOC 2.
• Strong knowledge of threat modeling, secure architecture, and incident response.
• Experience securing AI or LLM systems.
• Ability to independently lead security at a startup and set the security agenda.

Nice to have

• Experience with export control, ITAR, or FedRAMP.
• Experience with TypeScript, Node, Python, modern LLM APIs, orchestration libraries, Postgres, and managed cloud services.
