What you will do

• Apply mechanical engineering knowledge throughout the product development process.
• Work with scientists to prototype, characterise, and explore new technologies and processes.
• Collaborate with designers, human factors experts, and engineers from multiple disciplines to design, test, and build products and systems.
• Develop materials, assemble prototype test rigs, observe product interactions, and capture high-speed video to assess performance.
• Support technical strategies and wider business solutions for clients.

Requirements

• Penultimate-year undergraduate student studying toward an accredited degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related subject.
• Curiosity, adaptability, creative problem-solving, and willingness to develop new technical skills.
• Strong collaboration, relationship-building, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
• Comfort working hands-on in workshop and laboratory settings.
• Professional, reliable, punctual, and respectful of workplace expectations.

Nice to have

• Practical industry experience in engineering, development, or scientific work.
• Experience with 3D CAD systems, preferably SolidWorks.
