Development Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Wolverhampton, United Kingdom; remote is mentioned, while the work schedule is onsite. Some travel to external test houses may be required.

What you will do

• Build early product assemblies and develop assembly and test processes for new products.
• Conduct risk-reduction, design-development, and qualification testing.
• Set up tests using instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
• Generate test records and reports, and investigate failures through the FRACAS process.
• Contribute to continuous improvement activities and provide verification evidence for certification.

Requirements

• Minimum HNC qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline.
• Proven experience building and testing actuation system assemblies, hydraulic products, or similar equipment.
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems and components, supported by practical engineering skills.
• Familiarity with MS Office applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage priorities and meet project deadlines.
• Accuracy is essential because testing may be reviewed by customers or aviation certification authorities.

Nice to have

• Experience in a test environment, particularly certification testing.
• Experience with LabVIEW, DASYLab, or FlexLogger data acquisition software.
• Experience within an aerospace company.
