TL;DR
Wing Structure Repair Manual Engineering Placement (Aerospace) (Static Stress/Fatigue and Damage Tolerance): Developing aircraft wing repair knowledge and engineering solutions across static stress analysis, fatigue and damage tolerance, CATIA design, and process digitalisation with an accent on repair design and aerospace structures. Focus on building finite element models, automating engineering processes with coding, and contributing to repair projects for the Airbus commercial fleet.

Location: Filton, Bristol, United Kingdom. Hybrid working options are available depending on the role.

Salary: £24,246 per year

What you will do

  • Perform static stress analysis from first principles through finite element modelling.
  • Develop knowledge of fatigue, damage tolerance, and aircraft wing repair design.
  • Use CATIA, configuration management, and digital mock-up tools.
  • Automate engineering processes using coding and data analysis skills.
  • Contribute to repair projects while developing project management, customer focus, and leadership skills.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate status must be maintained for the entire 12.5-month placement.
  • Studying or having studied Aeronautical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Good knowledge of coding and data analysis techniques.
  • Interest in aerospace and the challenges of the civil aircraft market.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to collaborate within a team.
  • Successful candidates must complete a BPSS check and may need UK SC-level security clearance or export-control approval.
