Design Engineer (AI)

Location: New York City metropolitan area; in-person work five days a week in the office. Candidates must be located in the area or be open to relocation.

Salary: $205,000–$320,000 per year plus equity.

What you will do

• Explore and refine product experiences in code with Product Designers.
• Bring hirify.global’s visual identity into working product experiences with Brand Designers.
• Partner with Platform Engineers to ship polished and maintainable interfaces.
• Shape product solutions with Product Managers around user needs, priorities, and technical constraints.
• Advance the shared design system so designers and engineers can deliver better work faster.

Requirements

• Experience shipping products in close partnership with designers and software engineers.
• Ability to read and write front-end code with strong interaction and visual design judgment.
• Ability to explain design and engineering tradeoffs to Product Managers.
• Comfort working in ambiguous and novel technical domains.
• Ability to communicate clearly in writing and in person, move quickly, and recognize when additional polish is needed.
• Availability for in-person work five days a week in the New York City metropolitan area, or willingness to relocate.

Nice to have

• Experience building a design system for a platform or developer product.
• Experience shipping 0→1 product surfaces with design, engineering, and product partners.
• Experience bringing a brand system into a working product experience.
