Systems Administrator - Spacecraft Control Centre (Linux)

Location: Hybrid role in the Chippenham area, with the workplace identified as Corsham, Wiltshire, United Kingdom

What you will do

• Configure, maintain, reconfigure, and restore computer systems and equipment across the Spacecraft Control and Operations Facility.
• Install and bring Spacecraft Control Centre systems into service across a distributed network of sites.
• Maintain control-centre systems after customer handover and lead deployment plans for upgrades, enhancements, patches, and fixes.
• Develop and implement test procedures and scripts in dedicated test environments before operational deployment.
• Use Cisco and IP networking skills to integrate control-centre systems with existing equipment and networks.
• Investigate and rectify system issues, manage configuration changes and software licence records, and maintain regular customer contact.

Requirements

• Valid, in-date RHCSA qualification is required.
• Experience working in a systems administration role and managing Cisco networks.
• Experience supporting high-availability systems, preferably with Linux-based hardware and software.
• Good knowledge of IP networking and familiarity with Cisco networking devices.
• Cisco CCNP or CCNA is desirable; CCNP Enterprise is expected to become essential over the longer term.
• UK Eyes Only SC/DV Security Clearance through the UK Intelligence Community process is required.
