Systems and Integration Engineer (Automation)

Location: Cheltenham, United Kingdom; applicants must typically be sole British citizens who have lived in the UK continuously for the previous 10 years and be eligible for UK Developed Vetting (DV) clearance.

Salary: Competitive, with role-based DV allowances of up to £7,000 per annum and a possible £5,000 per annum allowance while holding DV clearance.

What you will do

• Write and improve Ansible automation for operating-system configuration, including Debian networking and Active Directory.
• Design deployable architectures that address customer technical challenges.
• Integrate and deploy third-party applications and services.
• Build and sustain mission-critical Windows and Linux environments using API and automation layers.
• Investigate solutions, create proofs of concept, troubleshoot networks, and communicate designs to peers and customers.
• Share technical knowledge through presentations and collaborative engineering work.

Requirements

• Hands-on guest-level administration and configuration experience with Linux or Windows systems.
• Experience with Linux distributions such as RHEL, Ubuntu, or Debian, or Windows technologies including Active Directory and PowerShell.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, routing, certificates, and PKI.
• Ability to investigate unfamiliar technologies, experiment in test environments, and build proofs of concept.
• Eligibility for UK Developed Vetting (DV) clearance is required; applicants must typically be sole British citizens with 10 years of continuous UK residence.

Nice to have

• Ansible, Terraform, vSphere, Docker, Podman, K3s, or Kubernetes experience.
• Enterprise Windows, Linux administration, networking, proxy, firewall, and dynamic-routing experience.
• Python, React, Next.js, monitoring, audit, and security tooling experience.
• Experience deploying open-source LLMs on premises or automating AWS services with Lambda and CloudWatch.
