Senior Virtualization Engineer (OpenStack)

What you will do

• Own and improve the infrastructure, processes, and engineering standards for the virtualization platform.
• Design, deploy, configure, and maintain OpenStack clouds and their components.
• Diagnose and resolve complex compute, storage, and networking issues across multiple teams.
• Automate repetitive operational tasks and improve platform scalability, performance, and cost-efficiency.
• Support platform users, coach engineers, and promote operational and technical excellence.
• Resolve critical production issues in a high-intensity trading environment as part of an on-call rotation.

Requirements

• Expert-level proficiency administering OpenStack.
• Deep knowledge of networking, storage, Linux, virtualization, server hardware, and virtual machines.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
• Scripting or coding experience in multiple languages, including examples such as Python, Golang, or Bash.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work across teams and support evidence-based technical discussions.
• Ability to lead by example, develop team members, and provide service-focused technical support.

Nice to have

• Experience with VMware ESXi.
• Experience with containerization and Kubernetes.
• Experience administering on-premises infrastructure.
• Experience developing, deploying, and supporting full-stack web applications.
• Experience with multiple programming languages across greenfield development and legacy maintenance.
