Lead AI Automation Engineer

Location: Brighton HQ, United Kingdom. Full-time, permanent hybrid role.

What you will do

• Design and ship production-ready agentic AI systems, including agents, retrieval pipelines, and internal automations.
• Prototype AI solutions quickly through working demonstrations and take successful concepts into production.
• Implement LLM orchestration, agent frameworks, robust backend pipelines, and integrations aligned with the agentic reference architecture.
• Work with the AI Product Manager and Lead Decision & AI Scientist to evaluate use cases, models, and LLM outputs.
• Coach teams across hirify.global that are experimenting with AI and share effective emerging-technology practices.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering background with complex distributed systems shipped to production.
• Hands-on experience with LLM orchestration, agent frameworks, RAG, and low-code automation tools such as n8n.
• Confident coding skills in Python or Node.js.
• Experience with cloud-native architecture on GCP or AWS, API management, and robust backend pipelines.
• Structured, pragmatic approach to debugging non-deterministic systems.
• Ability to explain complex technical ideas through practical demonstrations.

Nice to have

• Experience defining evaluation frameworks for LLM outputs.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience coaching or influencing teams without formal authority.
• Track record of turning emerging AI tooling into practical opportunities.
