Head of Financial Control (AI)

What you will do

• Own month-end and year-end close, management accounts, IFRS statutory accounts, reconciliations, and financial reviews.
• Build and maintain a scalable financial control environment, including policies and delegated authorities.
• Lead corporation tax, VAT, PAYE, R&D relief, Companies House filings, HMRC relationships, and tax treatment for new products.
• Manage annual audits and relationships with external accountants, tax advisers, legal advisers, and other stakeholders.
• Own treasury, cash flow forecasting, working capital, banking relationships, payment controls, receivables, and payroll operations.
• Own NetSuite and the finance systems stack while leading automation and the development of an AI-native finance function.

Requirements

• Qualified accountant with an ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent qualification and substantial post-qualification experience.
• Experience in a technology, marketplace, or high-growth business, ideally with high transaction volumes.
• Experience leading AI or automation change in a finance function and redesigning operational processes.
• Hands-on experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and management and statutory reporting under IFRS or UK GAAP.
• Working knowledge of UK tax compliance, including VAT, PAYE, and R&D relief, plus experience managing advisers and HMRC correspondence.
• Experience owning a cloud ERP such as NetSuite, automating finance processes, forecasting cash flow, and leading finance teams through growth and change.
