Procurement Category Manager

Location: Hybrid in Palo Alto, California, United States

Salary: $190,000–$250,000 USD annually in the AMER region, plus equity and bonus eligibility.

What you will do

• Develop category and sourcing strategies for white-space data center infrastructure, including power panels, coolant distribution units, racks, aisle containment, busway, cabling, raised floors, modular solutions, and fit-out contractors.
• Build and manage strategic supplier partnerships, supplier panels, master goods and services agreements, and framework arrangements.
• Secure future supply through capacity reservations, manufacturing slots, volume commitments, and clear call-off routes for onsite teams.
• Run end-to-end procurement processes, including market engagement, pre-qualification, RFI, RFQ, RFP, evaluation, negotiation, and contract award.
• Coordinate engineering, design, construction, commissioning, operations, project controls, finance, and legal stakeholders to define requirements and select providers.
• Manage supplier performance, commercial negotiations, supply chain risks, business reviews, spend reporting, savings, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 4–7 years of experience in procurement, category management, or supplier relationship management, ideally in data centers, mission-critical facilities, energy, construction, or large-scale infrastructure.
• Direct experience purchasing white-space infrastructure and understanding how related equipment, works, and services are specified, manufactured, and delivered.
• Experience building strategic supplier partnerships and establishing master agreements, frameworks, or capacity arrangements for project pipelines.
• Experience with structured procurement processes, stakeholder requirements, supplier escalations, and senior supplier relationships.
• Knowledge of commercial terms including liability, warranties, liquidated damages, payment terms, change control, and standard contracts such as NEC, JCT, FIDIC, GMP, or AIA.
• Strong analytical and cost-modeling skills, including total cost of ownership analysis, plus experience with ERP, AI-based systems, procurement systems, and Excel.

Nice to have

• CIPS or CPSM qualification, or progress toward one.
• Experience across European and North American markets.
