2027 Summer Internship - Electronic Engineer (Cambridge)

Location: Global Innovation & Technology Centre, Melbourn, Cambridge, United Kingdom. The internship starts in June 2027 and lasts 8 weeks.

What you will do

• Develop electronic systems and technical solutions across the full product lifecycle.
• Design, simulate, prototype, test, and support the transfer of electronic products to volume manufacture.
• Work in small multidisciplinary teams on sensors, antennas, communication systems, microcontrollers, and embedded hardware.
• Investigate emerging technologies such as conductive ink sensors, metasurface antennas, plasma antennas, and magnetics-based control systems.
• Apply Edge AI to develop compression algorithms for low-power audio transmission from remote sensing platforms.

Requirements

• Penultimate-year undergraduate student, or eligible to return to university after the internship to complete an MSc.
• Studying toward or holding an accredited degree in Electronic Engineering or a related subject such as Physics or Biomedical Engineering.
• Knowledge or interest in electronic circuit design, digital electronics, DSP, FPGA, microcontrollers, microprocessors, or embedded hardware design.
• Knowledge or interest in embedded software development in C, power electronics, switch-mode power supplies, RF electronics, or communication systems.
• Analytical, adaptable, collaborative, communicative, curious, and reliable approach to engineering work.

• Product design experience.
