Principal Electronics Engineer

Location: Maidenhead, United Kingdom; on-site full time. Occasional travel to suppliers and test houses is required.

What you will do

• Research, design, and develop digital and analogue electronics within the Hardware Engineering team.
• Specify, design, simulate, prototype, and verify circuits and multilayer printed circuit boards.
• Provide technical direction across multiple projects and influence architecture and design decisions.
• Support production test and resolve electronic hardware issues to minimize manufacturing delays.
• Estimate effort and deliver work within agreed cost and schedule constraints.
• Contribute to design reviews, mentor junior staff, and potentially lead a project team.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Extensive experience with high-speed digital designs involving processors and programmable devices, or with analogue circuits and switched-mode power supplies.
• Ability to design reliable power supplies and analyze performance across input, output, and temperature conditions.
• Experience with schematic capture, layout constraints, large complex designs, multilayer PCBs, and PCB stack-up design.
• Must be willing and able to obtain and maintain SC and DV security clearances.
• Must be a British Citizen resident in the UK for the past 5 years for SC clearance and 10 years for DV clearance.

Nice to have

• Experience with EMC and TEMPEST design and testing.
• PCB layout experience using PADS or Altium.
