Senior Software Engineer, Perception ML (Autonomous Driving)

Salary: $193,930–$291,150 per year, plus annual performance bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Develop and improve perception models using real sensor data, including 3D and spatial representations.
• Own model architecture, representation choices, loss design, training, and evaluation.
• Design controlled experiments and ablations to validate model improvements and understand model behavior.
• Diagnose failures across modeling, supervision, training data, and optimization.
• Improve generalization across sensor platforms, geographies, and rare driving scenarios while meeting model-quality and onboard-runtime requirements.
• Collaborate with autonomy, ML data infrastructure, and infrastructure engineers to deliver targeted perception improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Statistics, Physics, Mathematics, or another quantitative field.
• 4+ years of industry software engineering experience.
• Fluency in Python and familiarity with C/C++.
• Hands-on experience developing, training, debugging, and improving machine learning models.
• Experience in perception, or evidence of rapidly building expertise and delivering substantive machine learning results in new domains.
• Ability to lead cross-functional technical projects from design through completion.

Nice to have

• Experience with occupancy, 3D scene understanding, or onboard perception models.
• Familiarity with synthetic data or autonomous driving data.
