Senior Staff Machine Learning Engineer (Ai)

Location: Boston, MA; hybrid workplace

Base salary: $277,000–$389,000 per year, excluding RSUs, stock appreciation rights, and potential sign-on bonus.

What you will do

• Develop perception algorithms for scene segmentation, tracking, classification, and high-level scene understanding.
• Build multimodal foundation models for on-vehicle and offline applications.
• Apply generative AI to simulation to improve the realism of offline validation systems.
• Use large-scale machine learning infrastructure to discover new solutions and advance the technical stack.
• Collaborate with Prediction, Planning, Simulation, and Safety Validation engineers on autonomous driving in complex urban environments.
• Provide technical mentorship to machine learning developers.

Requirements

• BS, MS, or PhD in computer science or a related field.
• Experience training and deploying deep learning models on sensor data.
• Experience with production machine learning pipelines, including dataset creation, training frameworks, and metrics pipelines.
• Modern computer vision experience, strong mathematical skills, and knowledge of probabilistic techniques.
• Fluency in C++ or Python with a basic understanding of C++, plus extensive programming and algorithm design experience.
• Ability to work in a hybrid role based in Boston, Massachusetts.

Nice to have

• Publications in computer vision, robotics, or related fields, especially CVPR, ICCV, RSS, or ICRA.
• Experience with autonomous robots and real-time sensor fusion using LiDAR, cameras, or radar.
• Experience developing convolutional neural network pipelines and architectures.
• Experience with 3D data and representations such as point clouds and meshes.
