Senior Perception Engineer (Robotics)

Location: Waltham Office, United States. Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $115,000–$135,000 annually, plus an annual bonus structure.

What you will do

• Build, maintain, and improve perception systems for the Stretch production robot fleet.
• Apply robotics and computer vision techniques to solve real-world warehouse problems.
• Harden perception approaches for varied warehouse conditions.
• Evaluate robot performance through testing and data analysis, translating findings into improvements.
• Develop efficient, testable, and maintainable C++ code and Python tools for analysis.
• Collaborate with PerML, controls, manipulation, and Platform teams.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of industry experience, or substantial internship, co-op, research, or project experience.
• Strong software development skills in C++ and Python.
• Knowledge of software development best practices.
• Ability to explain technical results and trade-offs clearly in writing and in person.
• Hands-on curiosity and debugging experience with real hardware and data.
