Expert Business System Specialist

Location: Hybrid role based in West Sacramento, California, with Oakland, California also listed as a location. Work is performed from a remote office and the assigned work location based on business need.

Salary: $116,000–$184,000 per year.

What you will do

• Act as a liaison between business users, process owners, and Information Technology.
• Document business procedures, administrative controls, system requirements, and functional specifications.
• Analyze complex end-to-end business processes and coordinate solutions for business information needs.
• Identify process issues, implement corrective and preventive actions, and improve operational efficiency and compliance.
• Coordinate user acceptance testing, review test results, and support system and process implementations.
• Contribute to business cases, project estimates, training materials, change management, and communications.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• At least 7 years of experience in business, IT, or engineering.
• Expert-level participation in high-complexity projects or experience in a leadership role.
• Experience with process management, process improvement, quality management, administrative controls, and process documentation.
• Strong analytical, written, oral communication, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Understanding of utility business processes and the impact of technical changes across functional units.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree, preferably in Industrial and Systems Engineering.
• Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies; Lean Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.
• Continuous education in business-specific areas.
