Business Analyst (EdTech)

Location: Hybrid; four days per week on-site in McLean, Virginia, United States

Salary: $120,000–$135,000 annually

What you will do

• Analyze complex business problems, workflows, system functionality, data flows, dependencies, and root causes.
• Lead discovery discussions with stakeholders and subject matter experts to define practical, scalable solutions.
• Translate business needs into functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, use cases, and process documentation.
• Collaborate with development, UX, QA, curriculum, operations, and technical teams throughout solution delivery.
• Analyze digital curriculum, content publishing, course configuration, and distribution across LMS, SIS, and other instructional technologies.
• Develop test scenarios, participate in functional validation and user acceptance testing, and support implementation, training, and rollout.

Requirements

• Experience in business analysis, systems analysis, product development, or a related technology-focused role.
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, problem-solving, communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
• Experience with requirements discovery, business process analysis, workflow modeling, and functional solution design.
• Understanding of software development processes, system integrations, application functionality, and downstream impacts.
• Experience with digital content publishing, curriculum management, or Learning Management Systems.
• Ability to work on-site in the McLean, VA office four days per week.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with Canvas LMS, including course configuration, content publishing, course management, or administrative workflows.
• Experience with Clever, rostering, application access, and educational technology integrations.
• Knowledge of K–12 education, instructional workflows, curriculum operations, and school technology environments.
• Experience with digital content lifecycle management and Student Information Systems such as PowerSchool.
• Experience working in Agile software development environments.
